Climb A Wall at the Rock Gym

Hampton Roads has a lot to offer, but unfortunately, mountains are not one of them. So for a Colorado girl like me, the Virginia Beach Rock Gym is the quickest way to get my climbing fix while allowing my girls to have a little fun and exercise at the same time. The largest climbing wall is well over 30 feet tall and has multiple routes to try, so you never really get bored. Don't worry if you've never tried it, there is a staff on hand to show you the ropes (ha!), and you always are harnessed and watched by a belay certified person. If heights aren't your cup of tea but you still want to climb, there is a section of the gym that is useful for bouldering (non-harnessed climbing on lower walls, with cushions on the floor in case you slip). This section is particularly fun for the kids and can cover all skill levels. Where a t-shirt and loose fitting jeans and get ready to use your body a little. If your little ones have too much energy - fantastic place to spend it!
